I Think I Can

by Nicole

I’m making progress on my scrappy quilt. Here it is on my design wall.

The space was a bit short to fit all the blocks so you’ll have to use your imagination for how the bottom looks with the remaining blocks added.

If I were making the one in the book, I’d be ready to put on borders now.

But I want it to be big. Bed-sized big. So I will keep going.

I’m a bit nervous about making a quilt this size. The last bed-sized quilt I attempted is still a UFO that I started 11 years ago! I just keep telling myself that I can do this one!

16 blocks done. 20 to go!

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

I love this! It's amazing how a different choice of fabrics make all the difference sometimes. This looks great.

Nicole, your quilt is gonna be great! I made that one bed-sized also (all green scraps) and it turned out great. Kim's patterns are so wonderful, I've made four or five from that same book.

You can do it! I finished my first bed sized quilt last year and it inspired me to take out my 11 year old bed sized UFO to finish too. I'm working on hand-quilting it now. I wish I had known when I started quilting that I didn't have to start with a bed sized one!

What a beautiful quilt so far. I love the pattern. Maybe when you are done, all of us with 11 year old ufo's should challenge each other to finish them!

The colours are beautiful Nicole, and you work so quickly, I have a feeling this one will be done in no time. I just dusted off a UFO which is further along than I thought so its onwards and upwards!

It's sooo pretty! I can imagine laying on that bed & just looking at the different fabrics for hours, and the overall design makes such a pretty shape too. I may have to get me a copy of that book…

You are such a talented quilter! A few extra feet shouldn't scare you…. It's all about holding the quilt and moving it thru. Can't wait to see your finish!
