W.i.P Wednesday: Pretty Fabric

by Nicole

Some fabric is too pretty to cut, don’t you think?

That’s how I feel about this pretty little number from the, “It’s a Hoot!” collection by MoMo.

I love seeing the scene with the trees, birds, and flowers. It is a big beautiful bold print that will be lost if it’s cut to pieces.

Since it’s too cute for the rotary cutter, I’m going to use it to make a medallion quilt. I plan to add a scrappy border or two. Improv style, of course. I’m thinking pink. Maybe some other colors too. We’ll see.

And then I’ll pin it, stitch it, bind it and call it done. This one will be for my baby girl.

I hope you’re having a great day!

Veeeery cute fabric, I love it. And you're right to not cut it into bits. You need to show off that cute print!

Great idea to use this for a medallion quilt! I had some of the same print, with a similar dilemma, but ended up using it for a diaper bag for a friend of mine. That satisfied my need to utilize but not slice up this beauty! Have fun!

I adore this fabric! I made a quilt last year for a friend's house-warming and I left a big piece of this fabric in interrupting the design because, as you say, it is just too precious to cut up.

Its gorgeous!! Don't know how anyone could cut into it. I sure couldn't It'd probably be made into a mini quilt or extra large pillow =D

Yup, there's definitely some fabrics I look at and don't see 'quilt', but rather 'bag' or 'pouch' or other use so that the big prints don't get lost. I have this print in a different colourway and used it as a bag lining, so the bag looks relatively grown up on the outside, but I get a grin when I look inside ;o)

You are right-it is too pretty to cut up. Can't wait to see what you do with this.

That really is too pretty to cut! I think you're on the right track with the medallion quilt idea.
