Hooray! Horray! Horray! I always give myself a little cheer when I get a quilt done. Don’t you?
I’m cheering all the more on this one since it’s done with 12 days to spare before Christmas!
I confess that I got a bit of a head start by using three stars that were left over from making Twinkle last year. I made three more stars and the top came together quickly with lots of Kona white for the background.
When I showed my two-year old the Christmas quilt I was making for her, she asked me if that’s going to be her Christmas tree quilt. I don’t know if she called it that because of the tiny Christmas trees on the fabric or because she sees Christmas as being all about the big tree with lights and shiny balls in the family room (Note to self: Must find the nativity storybook and read it to her!).
Either way, my daughter has named the quilt as the Christmas Tree Quilt.
She will only use quilts that are made with flannel. The girl knows what she likes! I think it’s the softness that appeals to her. Luckily, I had a green and white dot flannel in my stash that went perfectly with the Christmas fabrics.

At 35″ by 44″, the Christmas Tree Quilt may only be big enough for my daughter for this year’s Christmas, but we just might make this a winter quilt and use it for the next few months.

It's beautiful! I love it and would claim it as my Christmas tree quilt too. I love how you put a little label into the binding. I might have to get some and start doing that cos I'm so bad at sewing a label on the back. Too often I just don't get around to it.
