More Improv with Intent

by Nicole

After making my first improv with intent block, I still had a lot of fabric left over. I was determined to not add to my already overflowing scrap bin!

So I made another block – a minimalist log cabin with the required triangle.

And another one.

And late one night, when fatigue was calling me to bed, I challenged myself to whip up one more block in 10 minutes. It took me 25 minutes, but this is what I made – a slice and insert block.

I loved it so much I decided to make a larger version as a whole quilt.

I’ve got it all basted (that brown tool is a Kwik Klip, in case you were wondering).

Now to stitch it up!

Improv with intent is the best kind of improv IMHO! There's a sense of order in the chaos. 🙂 The red is very striking. Can't wait to see where you go with this as a full quilt.

the little triangle works so well in the log cabin and the other block is eye catching too

Ah those 10 minute extras…. 😀 I'm very familiar with how long 10 minutes can so easily become! These blocks are very bold and striking and I really love your X, great idea to make a large quilt.

Very nice! And I love the kwik klip. I received on as a gift last year and it's been quite useful.

I like these blocks a lot. The little triangles are smile makers.I still don't know exactly what improv with intent means, though. I need to read up on it.

I really like the slice and insert block. I tend to think of myself as not liking modern, and yet, I am attracted to the simplicity of it in spite of myself. 🙂 Guess that's why I stick around here. 😉
