Quilting is underway on the charity quilt

I was going to go with a horizontal stipple to contrast with the straight lines of the crosses, but when I started quilting, it didn’t seem to be a good fit. So, I ripped it out.

And then I tried straight line spiraling and loved it!

I agree. That straight line spiral was a good choice. I have heard the advice that you should straight line stitch curvy quilt and curvy line stitch a linear pattern quilt but that rarely seems to work for me when I try it. I really like the effect of what you have done. Sorry that you had to rip out to learn though. Bummer

This is going to be very striking, Nicole! Sorry you had to do some 'unsewing'!

Oh this is fun! Kind of like what I've done a couple of times with my walking foot – I really enjoy it too!
