February in Review

by Nicole

February is the shortest month of the year, but I did manage to get a few things done.

The first, Peek-a-Boo Spot, was one that had been on my mind for some time. It was a labor of love for all the math involved!

But totally worth it when I saw my little girl go right for those flaps to discover what Spot was up to.

And then I went back to the freedom of improv and made this little quilt, Vroom! Vroom! I finished it up on Valentine’s Day. It was the perfect gift to myself.

My last quilt for the month was Helix. This one was different from anything I’ve done before. Simple yet bold.

I also made a few other things…

Come back tomorrow when I’ll share with you the liberated quilt that I just finished up. Hopefully by then I’ll have a name for it! I’ll see you then!

love that peek a boo quilt such a great idea is it a pattern or your own design as I would quite like to make something like that for a friend's third baby that is due? x

What a productive month! That Spot quilt is an engineering feat! I've been looking and looking at the photo from the other day of the project you are basting and I'm burning with curiosity to know what the wooden handled tool is in the photo…

I love your Spot quilt. I had always planned to make a flap quilt when I was teaching nursery school, but never seemed to have the time. I was thrilled to see how yours came out; the quilting really enhances it.

What a lovely showcase of the quilts and projects you made in February! That Spot quilt is, obviously, a huge hit — with your daughter, and with the rest of us! 🙂 But your helix quilt is cool, too. Love the modern feel of it.

Great work!
