What do you do when you have stacks of w.i.p.s?
Start a new one!
This one should be a quickie, which is why I’m giving myself some leeway to get it done. I’m making a patchwork pouch. I’ve got the panels made of 1″ squares using Anna Maria Horner’s Folk Song collection.
The panels came together quickly by piecing 1.5″ strips together. If you want to learn more about this technique, Red Pepper Quilts has a great tutorial here.
Once I get the pouch done, I’ll need to get back to the charity quilt that is long over due. I’m using big blocks so the top should come together fairly quickly. The rotary cutter is there for scale. The blocks will finish at 24″. Read more about this charity quilt here.
Can you tell from the color scheme that I started this quilt around July 4th?!?
But first I’ve got to get this quilt off the frame where it has been living this whole summer!

I love the giant block and the color scheme! I always forget about large blocks when quilting, but they are also so bold and stunning. 🙂
Those tiny "folk song' squares look delightful together!
such tiny squares not worked with anything that small before. The large blocks look good too and of course grow so much quicker, quilting is coming along too, would love to have a go on a long arm machine one day they look such fun and quitling a large quilt must be so much easier than wrestling with all the bulk on a standard machine
Nothing like Labor Day to kick me back into high gear. It looks like you got that kick too. The big and bold quilt squares are a great contrast to the itty bitty ones. I can't wait to see your FOs.
It seems logical to start something new. It gets our momentum going ; )
Love that Folk Song! I was just looking at my prints from that collection last night!
Amazing!!!
Love that tiny patchwork! I finished a quilt top this week! Now I just have to quilt it!
