Ever since I made this quilt for my daughter,
I’ve wanted to make another one in the teal colorway. Most of the prints are from Momo’s It’s a Hoot! But I’ve also added a few other prints from my stash.
Staying true to my improv nature, I cut strips of fabric into random widths and pieced them into long rows, in an adapted coins pattern.
I’m working on parallel straight lines for the quilting. It’s a slow process, but worth it for the texture that comes from such close quilting. I’m hoping to have this one done soon.
For now, I’m linking to W.i.P. Wednesdays at Freshly Pieced.

What a simple but lovely pattern – I think the simplicity of the pattern just brings out the beauty of the fabrics. And love it with the straight-line quilting!!
The fabrics on both quilts are to die for! Your straight line quilting is perfection.
I just love it!! in both colours…it is so simple; but so beautiful; cheerful….great job!!
Love the colors and the quilting is perfect. I try the straight line thing, but it's always a little wonky!
Lovely fabrics, and I love the clean lines of the quilt – beautiful!
Beautiful!! I agree that straight line quilting can be tedious but the fabulous texture is so worth it. Happy WIP Wednesday!
Gorgeous. I am still just beginning to quilt, but I see there is a huge payoff with those straight lines. The textures looks incredible. So glad to find you via WiP!
Thanks, Kristina! You are right that there is a huge payoff in quilting straight lines. When you give them a try, feel free to post a photo on my flickr group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/mamalovequilts/). I'd love to see what you stitch up.
I'm so glad you found me too, Kristina! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
