Oink a Doodle Moo!

by Nicole

My Oink a Doodle Moo Ohio Star quilt is finished!

Oink

I decided on a large meander for the quilting. I usually quilt more densely than this, but I must say using less stitching gives the quilt a nice drape.

My favorite parts of this quilt are all the cute animals and farm equipment.

For the back, I went with the navy print of the tractors and animals.

I had enough fabric left over that I decided to make a matching drawstring bag. I used a tutorial by Kitty Baby Love. I’ve used this tutorial several times for drawstring bags of all sizes and highly recommend it. The quilt fits perfectly in the bag.

At 41″ by 56″, this baby quilt should be big enough to carry baby boy through his toddler years and maybe even preschool. I’m hoping he will grow to love this quilt as much as I do.

I really like the bag you made for storing the quilt. A great idea. Such a bright quilt sure to encourage lots of conversation from the lucky little one snuggled under it with the beautiful fabric used.
