Did you all know you are the best readers?!? Thank you for your words of encouragement about my second attempt at making a bed-size quilt.
As I was piecing this one, your comments kept coming to mind and urged me to keep going.
After stitching the last border on, I took the top to my bed for a trial run. Fits nicely, I think.
It measures 94″ x 105″ and already it is heavy. I thought I could tape it to the wall to take a photo of the whole thing, but no matter how much tape I used, it kept falling down.
So here’s a photo of it on the floor.
Here are a few closeups.
I’m still amazed that I had all these scraps. And would you believe my scrap bins are still full?!? I think another scrap quilt will be in order soon. But first, I’ll link this one up to the Festival of Scrappiness. And then, I’ll figure out how I’m going to quilt this big quilt on my little machine.

Oh that IS big, Nicole! So beautiful though! Good luck with the quilting!
So beautiful! I love your color choices and placement – that is going to be a stunning quilt.
I give you credit for quilting that yourself. I'm kind of a wimp and always rent time on my LQS's long arm machine for anything bigger than a baby quilt! It is beautiful! http://www.paperstarfish.prettyposies.com
Congrats, Nicole! Good luck on the quilting and the bottomless scrap bins.
That is so beautiful, Nicole! I'm sure it will look fabulous on your bed. And isn't it amazing how scrap bins never get empty?
Wonderful scrap quilt. Love your use of color. Didn't you know that when you open the scrap bin that the scraps breed like bunnies? You need to do another project to keep them happy.
Wow, all from scraps, it looks great! You know, I think it's illegal to have an empty scrap bin 😉 x

Very very nice, Nicole. You should be proud! Good luck with the quilting.
I love this. You are making me want to buy that book!
Nicole – That is absolutely beautiful!
You did it! Looks great!
And don't worry about quilting it. when you quilt the only area of concern at any moment is the one between your hands. As Paula Reid says, just "Stuff and Fluff" the rest.
It's beautiful! It's going to be beautiful on your bed!
Jennifer 🙂
