A Christmas Miracle

Last week, I asked the question, “Is it too late to start a Christmas quilt?”

Well friends, the answer was, “No!” Let the record show that I started and finished a Christmas quilt before Christmas. It is a Christmas miracle!

To make it happen, I spent the past few days stitching like crazy. The pattern is the Northwest Modern Log Cabin quilt from Susan Beal’s Modern Log Cabin Quilting book. For more on the process, check out my previous post: Is It Too Late to Start a Christmas Quilt?

I went with vertical straight lines to mimic the stripes in the Hello Kitty fabric. I love when the fabric tells me exactly how to quilt the quilt!

For the binding, I chose a mini chevron print to resemble the stripes on Hello Kitty’s candy canes.

This is one more Christmas present done! For the other one, check out: The Deluxe Pincushion post.

I have 2 more projects to finish before Christmas: 2 sets of pajamas for my girls and another quilt for my other daughter.

I can do all that in 3 days, right?!?

I so love the happy freshness of this quilt, and I have no doubt that if anyone can make more in time it will be you. I have gifted project in progress and then taken them back to finish, just saying.

So cute, I'm still waiting for the elves to come and finish the quilt I've started for my daughter, but I think it's going to be more like mid January. If those elves can make shoes surely they can finish a quilt while I wrap and bake goodies. Merry Christmas.

I think you're never too old for Hello Kitty;)

If you pulled this quilt off, of course you can get everything else done! The difference between an experienced quilter like you and a newbie like me? It took me almost an entire day to make 2 sets of coasters–while you were quilting a quilt and planning many more things before Santa arrives 🙂 Merry Christmas, Nicole, to you and your family.

You are amazing!! What a sweet quilt from adorably cute kitty fabric. Hope you got the rest finished before Santa climbed down you chimney 😉
